All Aboard! - Free Trolley Service - The Paterson Parking Authority

Brief Trolley History:

This FREE SERVICE for residents, shoppers and business people brings back Trolley Service which was discontinued in 1928.

The Trolley seats 22 people and is handycapped accessible, and it runs every 15 minutes. Now, rain or shine, you can travel through the business and shopping district of Paterson.

The Trolley Line services all major goverment buildings including Paterson City Hall, The County Hall of Records and Federal Goverment Buildings.

All Paterson Trolley drivers have been carefully trained and certified by N.J.

Transit and provide passengers with detailed information on specific destinations in a courteous and professional manner.

The trolley service is also made available to community service groups, the Paterson Board of Education, and other agencies throughout the city of Paterson.

In a partnership with the Paterson Parking Authority, Paterson's UEZ is pleased to announce a new "Trolley Route" that began in November, 2003. The Trolley travels through downtown Paterson to the "Farmer's Market" or East Railway Avenue. Starting at 10:00 am, service begins on Ellison Street between Cianci and Mill Street.

Stops are made at the following locations:

R & S Strauss
21st Ave. & E. 23rd St.
Main & Grand Street
Wabash & 23rd St.
Main & Green Street
Wabash & Dundee
21st Ave. & Gray Street
Crooks Avenue
21 Ave. & Madison Avenue

Trolley signs are posted at designated stops. Every Wednesday and Friday, the trolley will make the trip twice daily, beginning at 10:00 am and again at 12:30 pm. Return trips from the Farmer's Market will leave at 12:00 noon and 3:00 pm. With the warm weather approaching and the fresh produce from the farms, take advantage of this FREE service to shop at one of the oldest Farmer's Markets in the State of NJ.

The Paterson Trolley is owned and operated by the Paterson Parking Authority with assistance from PNC Bank and The Chase Manhattan Bank. This service is provided at no cost to the City of Paterson and its taxpayers.
