The event featured a skit, which promoted senior health and fitness. The performers of the skit were members of the Community Health Educators and students of William Paterson University. The Tai Chi instructor (Phil Frost) demonstrated a few of the moves that will be incorporated into the class.
The event was attended by Mayor Jose "Joey" Torres, Tony Perez of the Paterson Parking Authority, Irma Gorham, Executive Director of Paterson Housing Authority, Erma Bonds, Commissioner of the Paterson Housing Authority, Larry Gutlerner and Vanessa Paynter of the Paterson YMCA, Dr. Joslin of William Paterson University, Dina Cuperman, Yoga Instructor, Elaine Henion and Juana Santana of the Paterson Adult Day Center and many seniors from Joseph Masiello, Gordon Canfield and Nathan Barnert Homes.
The Active Adult Fitness program consists of a walking club implemented at three senior sites. Water aerobics and low impact aerobics are facilitated at the Paterson YMCA. Yoga and Tai Chi are provided at the Paterson YMCA and at Joseph Masiello Homes.
Transportation is provided by the Paterson Parking Authority's Trolley servcie.
