Our Parking Facilities - The Paterson Parking Authority

Paterson Parking Authority Locations:
	The Authority's Office on 125 Van Houten street is open to the public from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each weekday. Five of the Authority's facilities are open seven days a week. Those with scheduled hours tend to be open from 7 a.m. to the late evening hours (as late as 10 p.m.). One of the sites is closed on Saturday and Sunday, and another is closed only on Sunday. 	Site#1 at West Broadway Lot (7,400 square Feet): This facility has a capacity of 43 spaces. The permit parking cost $60.00 per month.

	Site#2 at 1 Broadway Lot (217,270 square Feet): This lot has the capacity of 74 spaces with only permit parking at $40.00 per month.
	Site 2-A Broadway has 20 spaces is a leased lot.
	Site#4 at West Broadway and Memorial Drive has 43 spaces (open 7 days): -CASH ONLY (No coupons accepted) -$2.25 first hour - $1.25 each additional hour - NO MAXIMUM -Permits - $35.00 DPMA Employees -Permits - $90.00 DPMA Owners

Site#5 at 3 News Plaza (21,000 square feet): The capacity of this lot 58 spaces. This facility is leased to the adjacent storeowners.

Site 5R-530 Market Street Lot (36,100 square Feet): This lot has the capacity of 90 spaces and is leased to Second Home Medical Adult Day Care Center.

Site#7 at 80 Prospect Street Lot (66,739 square feet): This (open 7 days) facility has capacity for 172 parking spaces. Monday thru Friday $2.25 first hour - $1.25 each additional hour.

Saturday and Sunday: $3.25 first hour- $1.25 each additional hour. Monthly parkers are accommodated at a rate of $104.00 for 22 coupons.

Site#8 at 125 Van Houten Street Garage (110,500 square feet): This is a 431 space multi-level garage(open Monday thru Saturday). It also has accommodations for the Parking Authority offices.

Site#9 at Washington Street and Memorial Drive has 88 spaces (open 7 days):

Site#10 at 65 Ellison Street Garage (294,200 square feet): The Ellison Street Garage provides 800 parking spaces on eight (8) levels aboveground parking including its roof. Access points are located on Van Houten Street and Ellison Street. One-way vehicle access to the parking levels is gained through an upward clockwise sloping ramps at the structures perimeter and exiting occurs at the core of the facility via one-way downward spiral ramps, the direction is also clockwise.

Parking is $1.25 for the first hour - $1.25 each additional hour - NO MAXIMUM. Monthly parkers are accommodated at a rate of $104.00 for 22 coupons. The garage is also used for parking by the Paterson Board of Education and Jury Parking for the Passaic County Court House.

Site 11-169 Ward Street Garage (465,143 square feet):- The facility is an 800 space-parking garage with seven levels.

Site#11 at 169 Ward Street & Memorial Drive (465,143 square feet): The facility (open Monday thru Friday) is an 800 space-parking garage with seven levels. Traffic flow is two-way internal traffic operation via sloping floors. The twin-screw configuration affords access through out most of the garage with the exception of designated parking levels, which are barricaded off. Entry and exit is off of Ward Street.

The lot accommodates parking by County Administrative offices and the US Post Office.
Parking is $1.25 for the first hour - $1.25 each additional hour, 6 hrs. MAXIMUM

Sites 12-East, West, South and Annex Site 12 East (32,020 square feet):- and West (28,500 square feet): Having a combined parking capacity of 196 spaces. The parking facility East has 95 spaces.

Sites#12 at East (32,020 square feet): (28,500 square feet): Having a combined parking capacity of 196 spaces. The parking facility East has 95 spaces and is permit parking only at $140.00 per month.

Site#12 at West has 101 spaces. The parking charges are:
-$2.25 first hour - $1.25 each additional hour - NO MAXIMUM
-Discounted coupon book (22 coupons/1 coupon a day) at $104.00

12 W - weekend rates:
-$3.25 first hour - $1.25 each additional hour - NO MAXIMUM

Site#12 at Annex (6,850 square feet): This lot can accommodate 20 parking spaces, permit lot only at $140.00 per month.

Site# 14 at Lower Market Street has 212 spaces - Parking is by permit at a cost of $35.00 per month.

Site# 15 at Van Houten Street Lot - Magee's Alley: (39,591 Square Feet): This site has a capacity for 116 parking spaces. Parking is by permit at a cost of $40.00 per month.


	How the Authority Generates Revenues: In addition to operating and maintaining the 17 sites identified under "Locations of the Business," the Authority receives revenue from meter-curbed parking spaces in the central business district and in neighboring business districts. (Meters account for 15.4% of the Authority's revenues.) Enforcement of the meter regulations is performed by the Police Department, with Authority personnel handling the collection of meter revenues and the maintenance of the meters. Typical rates for transient parkers (those who don't use monthly passes, or purchase reserved spaces) are $2.25 per hour, $1.25 per hour thereafter and no maximum weekdays. Recent experiments at two sites have resulted in a rate increase to $2.25 for the first hour, and $1.25 per hour thereafter, resulting in a substantial increase in revenues. Consumers may purchase monthly parking permits for Sites #2 and #15 for $40.00 per month; Site #1 for $60.00 per month; Site #11 $140.00 per month, and for Site # 12E $140.00 per month. The Authority also sells monthly coupon books that contain 22 coupons (one coupon per parking transaction) at a cost of $104.00 per book.
